RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR
A Construction Estimator at Moontower Design Build will be responsible for providing complete construction estimates for comprehensive remodel additions or new custom homes.

• Analyzing drawings and specifications
• Understanding contracts, their terms, and conditions
• Coordinating site visits as needed
• Providing accurate, well-organized estimates and budgets on time
• Provide detailed quantity take-offs
• Develop relationships and negotiate with sub-contractors and other vendors/suppliers
• Organize and review all subcontractor quotations for accurate comparison of exclusions and inclusions
• Regular analysis of budget and change-orders to track production within set budget
• Regular communication with internal and external project stakeholders, including professionals (Designers, Engineers, Architects, etc), the client(s), and Moontower Management, Operations, and staff.
• Maintain a collaborative attitude towards Moontower architectural design team and project management team as well as outside design teams.
• Create and maintain a pricing database for materials, costs, and products
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems / procedures
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• 3-5 years of relevant estimating experience
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficient with Construction Online, Esticom, Google G-Suite (primarily Sheets) and AutoCAD, SketchUp, and ArchiCAD are a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License

CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Familiarity with the residential construction industry
• Familiarity with Austin permitting and inspection process
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Organized with document control
• Self-starter, motivated, team player
• Proven multi-tasker who enjoys a fast-paced work environment
• Exceptional communication skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish

REPORTING / ACCOUNTABILITY

• Bi-Weekly Goal Setting and Review Meetings with the Design Director to set priorities and discuss the previous weeks' work.
• Three Month Evaluation meeting will be held with the Design Director to review performance, team fit, and identify things that are working well and potential skills or areas to improve on.
